Dr. Herrera has developed a dynamic athletic and professional career that includes successfully competing at the collegiate level and briefly at the professional level.  His professional career includes over 20 years of experience in Sports Performance Training and 15 years of experience as a Board Certified Doctor of Physiotherapy with advanced training in the application of Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation.

Dr. Herrera received his doctorate in physiotherapy from Azusa Pacific University. He also received advanced training by successfully completing two highly selective specialty programs; Kaiser Permanente’s Orthopedic Residency and Orthopedic & Sports Rehabilitation Fellowship.

Dr. Herrera also served as the director of clinical education at Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta. He also served as a mentor, clinical faculty, guest lecturer and served on the credentialing, admission, remediation, education, and planning committees for Loma Linda University's Orthopedic Physical Therapy Program.
